Good Morning,

I am looking forward to some nice sunshine today and temperatures in the mid 70's.  Also, please pray for those who are facing difficult moments in their lives to have wisdom and patience.

This morning our focus will be on Proverbs 20:12, "The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them."

It is easy for us to take for granted the manner in which God has created us.  Two of our five senses are referenced in today's passage.  I'm glad for my ability to hear and for my ability to see, but God is the One who has made us.  Let's take a moment to consider what is before us.

The eyes and the ears are two of the most intricate aspects of any creature.  Nothing can replicate the power, the sensitivity, or the precision of the eye.  The Psalmist proclaims in Psalm 139:14, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."  Take a moment today, and thank God for the manner in which He has created you.

Think of what you are able to do with your eyes and your ears.  God created them to work for your benefit and for His glory.  Every member of our body should be used as instruments of righteousness.  The Apostle Paul states in Romans 6:12-13, "Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God."  The word "instruments" in verse 13 references a limb or part of the body.  Be careful to use the body God has given you, including your eyes and ears for His glory.

Finally, God has given you eyes and ears to enhance your ability to understand and perceive.  The gaining of wisdom by listening and seeing are opportunities afforded to us as humans who have the ability to think and reason.  Use your eyes and ears to learn and grow.

I conclude with one more note of praise from the Psalms.  "Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture."  (Psalm 100:3)
