Worshiping the God of Mercy and Truth
Genesis 24:26-27, "And the man bowed down his head, and worshiped the LORD. 27 And he said, 'Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren."
The man Eliezer presents a picture of the model servant. He didn't speak of himself, but rather spoke about his Master Abraham, and about the God of Abraham. This passage speaks of the deep sense he had of God's goodness, and the humility he possessed acknowledging God's favor and providential direction.
So many people live in pride, and this prevents them from sensing God's goodness and direction, which results in their living in and being directed by the flesh. Humility allows us to see God's providence, such as His mercy and truth, as mentioned in this passage. How do you see God? What is your perception? Or are you so busy and proud that a humble and worshipful response to Him is absent in your life?
Make God big today and everyday! Realize He is a God both of Mercy and Truth, and bow in humility before Him with praise and thanksgiving as you worship Him and allow Him to direct your life.
