Man's Complete Responsibility

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

Many people live life without the divine awareness of why they are put here on earth.  It is sad to think that a person could spend a lifetime of 70 or 80 years on earth and not know their purpose and responsibility.  Our purpose is to bring God pleasure:  Revelation 4:11, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are a were created."  Pleasing God necessitates a life lived by faith, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:6)  "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31).  Understanding our purpose (to bring God pleasure) brings with it responsibility.  Solomon concludes the book of Ecclesiastes by stating that man's total responsibility is to fear God and keep His commandments.  How are you doing fulfilling your God-given responsibility?  Are you living life with great reverence and awe of God?  He is the Judge of all mankind.  "...God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."  If you truly fear God, you will obey God.

Sin is rampant in the world and the church because not many realize their purpose and responsibility.  Would you stop today and allow the Lord to convince you of your purpose and responsibility?  Focus upon how you can better bring Him pleasure.  Focus upon your responsibility to fear the LORD.  Focus upon developing the kind of heart that desires to live in obedience to the Word of God.  Our world would be a different place if we would live out our purpose and responsibilities.

Have a great day bringing God pleasure.
