Rejoicing When Jesus Comes

Zechariah 9:9, "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold the King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."

It is obvious that today's verse is a prophecy concerning the coming of Jesus into Jerusalem (read Matthew 21:1-6).  Matthew 21:4 says, "All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet...."  This event is commonly referred to as the "Triumphal Entry of Christ into Jerusalem."  Scofield states this is "The King's final and official offer of Himself ..."  I can greatly rejoice and shout in response to Christ's obedience and sacrifice to offer Himself for the sins of the world.  What a day that must of been on that first Palm Sunday!!!  "And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. 9And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."

Today I'm looking for Jesus to return in the air to snatch away His bride.  Titus 2:13-14, "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."  Are you looking forward to, and anticipating the coming of Christ for His bride?  The Apostle John prayed with the same hope and anticipation that I do, "... Even so, come, Lord Jesus." (Revelation 22:20)

Have a great day looking upward, anticipating the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
