Revelation 17:17, "For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, and the words of God shall be fulfilled."  

I was reminded this morning, while reading, that the Lord is in control of this earth, always has been, and always will be. Barnes' Notes on the Bible reads, "They (the kings) would be employed as God's agents in bringing about His designs. Kings and princes are under the control of God, and, whatever may be their own designs, they are in fact employed to accomplish his purposes, and are instruments in his hands." They all agreed, which speaks of the unity and oneness of mind these kings possessed to accomplish God's will. They may not have known that is what they were doing, but yes, they were acting as God's agents to fulfill the Lord's will. GOD​ IS SOVEREIGN AND IN CONTROL!!!!  

Also, I was reminded of the blessed truth of God's Word being fulfilled and standing forever. I am thankful for this precious book! It is filled with the message of God's love for mankind and His will for those of us who know the Lord as Saviour. Matthew 24:35, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Isaiah 40:8, "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”  

May we never forget that God is in control, and His Word shall be fulfilled. “…Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” (Matthew 5:18)
