Revelation 20:15, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

This verse always brings a sense of sadness and burden to my heart. People who die without Christ will spend an everlasting eternity in Hell. Hell is a real place! It is not a place that anyone will be able to escape from once they go there! It is a place of outer darkness! It is a place of torment! It is a place where no one would ever want to go, yet, the majority of people will end up going to this place of torments called Hell.  Jesus stated, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)  

When you and I trusted Christ as our Savior, our names were written in the Lamb's Book of Life. It is mentioned in multiple verses in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 3:5, 13:8, 17:8, 20:12, 20:15, 21:27, and 22:19). Sometimes it is referred to simply as the book of life, and at other times, as the Lamb's Book of Life. It is the Lamb's book of life because no one can be saved outside of the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.  

Rejoice today if you are saved and be burdened today for those who are still living, lost without Christ. We need to be rescuing people from this awful place, by faithfully witnessing to those who do not know Jesus as their Savior. Jude 21-23, "Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh."

2. Some people mockingly suggest they don’t fear hell because they will just party with their friends. How is this lie being used by the devil, who is the Father of lies?

3. What do you need to do to be a more effective witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
