GOD AND THE JEWISH REMNANT
READ Romans 11:1-12
This chapter speaks of the relationship of the Gospel to the Jewish people. And, what we will learn is that God isn’t done with Israel, and there is a remnant who are saved throughout history.
The chapter begins with a question, “Hath God cast away his people?” Paul clearly provides the answer in verse two, “God hath not cast away his people which He foreknew.” Most Jews reject the deity of Jesus Christ and therefore have rejected Him as Savior. However, in spite of the hardened condition of Jewish hearts throughout all ages, there has been a remnant of Jewish believers. It is obvious that there has always been an opportunity for salvation to those who will believe.
As you read Romans 11:1-12 notice:
Paul was a Jew and was part of the remnant – vs. 1-2.
Elijah foresaw a remnant – vs. 2-4.
There was a believing remnant in Paul’s day, and there is one today – vs. 5.
God’s grace assures a remnant – vs. 6-10.
No matter how hard your heart may be, there is always an opportunity for you to come to Christ to receive His forgiveness and salvation.
Praise God that you are part of a worldwide remnant who has accepted Jesus Christ as God’s Son who came to redeem sinful man.

Pastor Abbott
MEDITATION
1. Does your family heritage have a part in keeping you out of God's kingdom? Does it have a part in getting you into God's kingdom? Be specific.
2. As a Christian believer, there are times when you might feel all alone in this world. When you feel this way, what are some specific things you need to do?
3. In a world that is under a cloud of darkness, full of sin, and given over to perversity, what proof could you offer that there is truly a remnant of people who love God?
4. What does Paul accuse Israel of doing wrong in these verses? Why should Israel's failures be a stern warning to every unbeliever?
