REJOICING IN GOD'S SUPPLY
READ Philippians 4:10-23
This final section of the book of Philippians is more personal in nature and contains words of encouragement. God takes care of us in more ways than we will ever know. Notice what Paul says about God’s supply – “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
God used the Church at Philippi to supply Paul’s needs, and He will supply yours.
Note:
1. THEIR GIVING WAS REVIVED, AND IT FLOURISHED – vs. 10
2. THEIR GIVING WAS NOT NECESSARY, BUT IT WAS NEEDED – vs. 11-14
3. THEIR GIVING WAS DISTINCTIVE: at that moment they were the only church who was giving – vs. 15-16
4. THEIR GIVING WAS SACRIFICIAL, AND IT WAS SEEN AND REWARDED BY GOD – vs. 17-19
May we rejoice in the benevolence, the benefits, and the blessings of God’s supply.
Your Friend and His,
Pastor Abbott
MEDITATIONS
1. Why is it important for the church, in addition to individuals, to support missions?
2. Why are some people, including Christian believers, so materialistic-minded?
3. What advantages will your possessions gain you when you face the Lord?
4. If you give sacrificially, God has promised to meet all your needs. What is your definition of “needs”? Are these needs the same for everyone?
5. Has God promised to give you your “wants”? Explain.
