How to Keep Clean from Sin

Psalm 119:9-11, "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."

Sin is a constant reality for every human. Unfortunately, we all have Adam's nature in us. We are sinners by nature and by choice. But God has not left us defenseless against sin. We learn in the today's passage the secret to being clean from sin is to take heed to the Word of God (vs. 9). If we seek to live by the tenets of the Bible we will be focused upon glorifying God rather than living for self. Memorizing and meditating upon the Word will provide us the ammunition necessary to experience victory over sin. The Psalmist spent time hiding God's Word in his heart; will you work at doing the same?

May we not wander from God's commandments, but may we seek the Lord with our whole heart.

Have a great day walking in the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit.

PONDER & MEDITATE

1. How does God’s Word keep you from sin?

2. How does memorization give us the opportunity to meditate?

3. What steps must be taken to hide God’s Word in our heart?
