Have You Hurt Yourself?

Two verses stood out to me this morning. I will speak about the first one and simply end with the last.

Hosea 13:9, "O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help."

What I find in this verse generally is we are the source of our own destruction, and that help is found in God and God alone. When we choose to step away from God in our daily walk it begins a process of drifting away that is dangerous. When we choose to rebel against God it begins a process that is dangerous. As a matter of fact, it is plain, WE DESTROY OURSELVES.

One thing is certain, we need God. We need God to save us. We need God to guide us. We need God to convict us of sin. We need God to forgive us. We need God to enable us in our service for Him. Yes, as the verse states, our help is in HIM.

Lord may we understand today our great need for you. May I seek you early and often. Forgive me, guide me, convict me, and enable me to serve you.

The other verse that spoke to me is the last verse in Hosea,

Hosea 14:9, "Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein."

Have a great day!

MEDITATIONS

1. What have you done that brought a form of destruction into your life?

2. Walking spiritually is dependent upon maintaining a close with the Lord. How would you describe your current walk with God? What are you doing to grow?

3. How can you determine if you are walking in the right ways of the LORD?
