A Sobering Reality
Zechariah 3:1, "And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him."
Here in our text is a high priest named Joshua standing before the angel of the LORD (Jesus) and Satan standing as the accuser. We have an advocate in the person of Jesus, and we have an accuser in the person of Satan. 1 John 2:1, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:" An advocate is one who is summoned to our side to plead our cause. You and I can have no standing before a Holy God without our righteous advocate the Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 12:9-10 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night." Satan is an accuser of all who confess Christ as Savior. He does his accusing before God and does so night and day. As an accuser, the devil, lodges accusations against us as one would do in a court of law before a judge.
I'm thankful that I stand in the righteousness of Christ my Savior, "For he (God) hath made him (Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Satan was busy accusing during the days of Zechariah and he continues doing the same today.

2. What is Satan doing day and night according to Revelation 12:9-10?
3. How does Christ act on your behalf?
