Jesus Is Alive and Filled With Purpose

John 21:14, "This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead."

The disciples had one among them who had betrayed Jesus (Judas Iscariot), one who denied Jesus (Peter), one who doubted Jesus had risen (Thomas), and two who wanted to be chief among them (James and John).  What a group?  These are the things we know about; I wonder what else there might be that brought challenges to Jesus in leading this group of men?

In this final chapter of John, we find Jesus appearing now the third time to His disciples, showing Himself alive and purposeful.  Showing kindness to his followers by cooking them a breakfast meal, discoursing with Peter about his love and future ministry, and finally telling Peter not to be concerned about God's will for someone else but to be concerned about God's will for himself (Jn. 21:21-22).

Jesus Christ is alive and well!  We can rejoice in the fact of His resurrection, His purposes, and His promise to return for us one day.  Until He comes, will you involve yourself in worshipping and serving the Lord according to His will?  Jesus lived and lives with purpose; we need to follow His example.
