THREE THINGS TO DO AS THE END TIMES APPROACH

Revelation 14:7, "...Fear God, and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."

I think as we move closer to the end times and the coming of the Great Tribulation upon this earth, that we, as Christians who will be raptured out of this world, need to follow the pattern given to the tribulation saints of Revelation 14:7. These three things are all simple to understand, but it is a totally different matter when it comes to following them:

  1. We must fear God. The idea of fearing God has to do with our respect, reverence, and response to God. We should always esteem God with reverence, think of Him from the aspect of His power, and obey His commands.

  2. We are to give glory to God. This means we make God shine before others. How are you doing in this aspect of your life? Does your life cause God to shine, or does it not make much of Him.

  3. We are to worship God. Worship speaks of the worthiness or value that we place upon an object or person. Certainly, we understand that nothing, nor anyone, is more worthy or valuable than God. Jesus stated that God, and God alone, is to be worshiped and served.

Living the Christian life becomes increasingly more complex and difficult as we see the world drifting away from God. It takes focus and determination to remain committed in your walk with the Lord. The world's pull and influence are real, yet can be overcome by faith.  1 John 5:4 states, "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."  Let's follow this pattern as we see the day of Jesus return approaching.

MEDITATIONS

1. What does it mean to fear God?

2. Is there anything in your power that you can do to keep God’s plan for end-time events from happening? So, what will you do as you see the Day approaching?

3. What are you doing to make sure that God is glorified through your life?

4. How does faith fit into the realm of being a victorious believer?
