THE ANTICHRIST DESTROYED

READ 2 Thessalonians 2:8

Verse 8, “And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming.”

The Bible says that the Lord Himself will come, and when Jesus is revealed, He will consume the Antichrist and his followers.   Revelation 19:15 says, “And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”

It will all be over in a moment. At the right time, just like that, the Antichrist will be destroyed “…whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming.”

This will find its fulfillment in Revelation 19:19-20, when the antichrist, the false prophet, and their followers are vanquished by Jesus Christ at His coming, 19“And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had receive the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image.  These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”

One day Satan and all his imps will be destroyed and out of our presence forever.  Hallelujah!!!

MEDITATIONS

1.  How would you explain the phrase in verse 8 referencing Christ when it speaks of “the brightness of His coming”?

2.  Jesus wins every battle, but what does it mean when verse 8 says the Antichrist will be consumed with the spirit of His mouth?

3.  When do the events of Revelation 19:19-20 take place, prophetically speaking?

4.  What joys might believers experience when, once and for all, Satan and his imps are permanently taken out of the way?
