God's Reassurance of Mercy
Isaiah 54:7-8, "For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. 8In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer."
God is always true to His character. I appreciate so much the consistency with which God deals with us. In today's passage, He speaks of the judgment that was brought upon the nation of Israel but reminds them of the great mercies they shall experience and the everlasting kindness they will ultimately enjoy. God is redemptive and is forever seeking to bring us back to Himself. He utilizes chastening in the lives of those who know Him in order to correct and strengthen.
Jesus took our sin upon Himself to redeem us from the penalty of sin. And now God is working in our lives to help us experience freedom from the power of sin. Is there something in your life today about which you should repent? Take a look at your life and make sure you are right with God. The Lord wants to extend His mercies to you and show you the way to daily freedom.
"...make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed." (Hebrews 12:13)
Have a great day walking in the joy and freedom of Christ's redemption. It's good to be born again!
