Our Faith Needs To Rest In More Than God's Power; It Needs To Rest In Who He Fully Is - For He Is Infinite In All That He Is!!!!
Jeremiah 51:15-16, "He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures."
Today's reading continues to speak of God's judgment upon the Gentile nations; including the Great Babylon. Whenever One pronounces judgment upon another, the One who judges must have the power and the authority to do so. God's power and authority are affirmed in Jeremiah 51:15-16. Not only does He have the power and authority to judge Babylon, but He has the power and authority to judge everyone, including Satan. God has given all authority, and thus all ability to Judge, to Jesus (John 5:22).
In relation to you and me, life will most definitely test our faith. Circumstances often can be hard to figure out, and if we aren't careful we will focus our attention upon trying to figure out our circumstances. I'm not given the ability to always figure out my circumstances, but I'm called to exercise faith in God, whose power and ability are so wonderfully depicted in Jeremiah 51:15-16. Some days are much more challenging than others because of what each day uniquely brings with it. Jesus’ statement in Matthew 6:34 reminds us of this reality, "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil (or difficulty) thereof."
There are five non-communicable attributes of God. These attributes solely belong to Him. They are not passed on to you and me. They are:
Omnipotence - God is all-powerful and can accomplish whatsoever He wills
Omnipresence - God is everywhere present in the fullness of His being at one and the same time.
Omniscience - The word comes from two Latin words, "omnis," meaning all, and "sciens," meaning knowledge. God knows everything!
Eternality - God has no beginning and no end. He always has been and always will be.
Immutability - Because God is perfect He is immutable; He never changes. He is the same; yesterday, today, and forever.
We need to look fully at who our God is and, on that basis, have a faith that is unwavering. Our prayer life is influenced by our faith or the lack thereof. The decisions we make are influenced by our faith or the lack thereof. Our daily focus is influenced by our faith or the lack thereof. I'm glad for God's power, but He is more than omnipotent! I'm glad for God's presence, but He is more than omnipresent! He is everything mentioned above and much more!!!!
May our faith rest in the One who saved us and who is infinite in all His being and attributes.

1. How might you limit God in your heart and mind?
2. Is God able to do all things? Why then do we not act in faith to trust Him?
3. Thank God for who He is and rejoice in His love for you.
